Dr Norman Orentreich
Dr. Norman Orentreich, in over fifty years of dedicated service to medicine and related science, is known for being on the cutting edge of discoveries and innovations in the fields of dermatology and cosmetic surgery. In 1968, Dr. Orentreich was tapped by the Estee Lauder Company to work with Carol Phillips of Vogue Magazine to create Clinique, the first dermatologist-guided, allergy tested, fragrance free cosmetics brand. Dr. Orentreich has continued his association with Clinique throughout the years, and remains the brand's guiding dermatologist to this day.

David S. Orentreich, M.D., a board certified dermatologist, graduated from New York’s Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 1984 he joined the Orentreich Medical Group. The son of Dr. Norman Orentreich, CLINIQUE’S founding and guiding dermatologist, he also serves as a guiding dermatologist for the brand, along with his sister, Dr. Catherine Orentreich.

Tom Mammone joined Clinique in 1986 to create The Skin Biology Lab, a research group that grows cells in order to closely study the aging process and the biology of the human skin in Melville, New York. Overseeing eight scientists in the lab, Dr. Mammone examines everything from hair biology, apoptosis in the skin, and skin pigmentation to collagen and keratinocyte differentiation. He and his team of researchers test the latest technologies and materials in order to help Clinique produce its cutting-edge formulations.
Paolo Giacomoni

Executive Director of Research and Development

Armed with a masters degree in atomic physics and a PhD in biochemistry, Giacomini got his start at the University of Paris, where he was a biochemistry professor who was also a part of a team researching cellular biology and cancer remedies. Working with Clinique since 1997, he is the ultimate molecule modifier who plays with existing molecules and finds innovative ways to apply them to cosmetics of all kinds. In addition, he tests how cosmetics, perfumes, and all sorts of products behave on the skin and how people feel when they’re used.
